Antioxidants in Plants and Climate Changes

Over the past decade there have been many fruits and plants that have been made famous and are still very popular due to the health studies that were performed and the results. The one thing that they all have in common is antioxidants. This is not a coincidence.
Many fruits and plants that are high in antioxidants also have higher than average vitamins, minerals or other beneficial compounds. This happens due to the unique environments that these plants grow in. Harsh climates like intense sunlight, very wet weather and rich soils are all contributing factors to the plants compounds. As climate changes occur, plants have to respond on a cellular level to produce whatever compound is necessary for their survival.
These compounds are usually the ones that we find beneficial to our health like polyphenols or natural antibiotics.Ever notice how goji berries and green tea have a very similar taste?
